i know in other rpg games i have played that there has always been a spearman. a piercing 2 handed weapon that would do dmg like a hammer i would b all over that lol. u could also in some way update the assasin so that he could use other type of dual weapon.

they could also create a dark mage, this would b the same as the mage we use now just dark magic i would nt mind seeing some evil mages out there lol. but in all honesty i think after a couple of new professions they r gunna run out of things to make w/o stepping on the boundries of other games. they will eventually allow us to b dwarves and other races. i think chapter 4 should b called something to do with the intro of different races seeing the same build everywere has gotten old

Well, as new professions go, some concept art for them was seen at E3.

Here is a little bit from a article at 1UP:

Quote:
There were only two sketches of the new professions shown, one being a white robed woman wielding a wicked looking double bladed staff, and an unarmed bald monk-like man, possibly a bare-knuckle combat class.
And another snippet from a different article:

Quote:
They didn't really talk about what was in it (just gave us the visual tour) but I think one of the new professions is "Witchdoctor". I could be wrong -- the smiling Guild Wars developer would not confirm or deny it -- but the character art sure looked like one.
Though of course this is very little to go on, if these are both talking true about what they saw, we could be in for a martial-artist class and and some kind of evil shaman class. Purely speculation from these tiny bits of evidence, though.

The Idea of Spear Men and such is Crazy In my oppinion, i mean jesus. your on about adding a weapon NOT a char class... they could give a warrior that can use spears with specific armor types for the spear... i mean its not a great idea but the idea of a spear man is to specific, same with alot of these ideas to be honest... dont get me wrong it could be cool if ANET did it right.

but for the most part its just crazy a bare knuckle fighter would suck. it would SUCK if your could fight hydras and giant monsters with a bare knuckle fighter... its not street fighter. and again its just another way to play a warrior.

because of the 2ndry prof idea of the wonderous guild wars it makes alot of classes un workable, for example: a paladin... it is a warrior monk.

some mystical properties are yet to be explored, even the option of having a different race.. like a dwarf... would suck if they had like loadsof different races after building up a humer char base, but 1 workable different race might be intresting. and it would have to not be a dwarf cuz the dwarf could still just be a warrior or a anything really, would have to be something specific that race could something DIFFERENT haha.

i dont mean to insult or bash any1s ideas... and dont mean it if i sound nasty... im just a little sceptical over alot of these ideas.

and its still cool your being creative you know, so dont be to harsh if you had already picked out your spear man's grass skirt.

keep them coming though, and also sticking wicked ways to work potential classes that i have bashed would be cool

i doubt there will be any kind of new proffesions in c3, they stretched it thin with ritualist and assassin, there will proberly be new skills. but new proffessions, no..

i would like to see other conditions being introduced. like something that prevents you form casting spells that costs 10 energy or more, maybe something that makes you gain half adrealin.
maybe they will make the UW/FoW for another god?
there will be a load of new content, thats for sure, but new classes, i doubt it.

I think it'd be a better idea to stop focusing on new classes, and perhaps venture into new races.

I would guess Bards and Druids.

Not sure how they would do a bard... but it would be interesting.

Druids I would only want if they allowed morphing in to creatures (ala WoW).

As one of the previous posts mentioned, I think ANet needs new professions to sell the game. It may be fine for old players, i.e. owners of Prophecies/Factions, but for people who will playing Guild Wars for the first time, unless ANet gives them access to existing professions, they will need new classes. Here is what I propose that ANet do:

$30 expansions that include additional content, bug fixes, features, etc., but no additional professions.

$10 for each additional profession that you want to add to your account. This is in line with the proposed additional char slot pricing.

man.. i wann asee an elf... different land... down under... night fall? Hmm... Dark Elves!!!! Uber cool sexy.. no wait.. that would be Lineage....

Sigh.. really... would be nice to see new professions... or even new chara races. Would be fun but i understand the possible difficulty of it.

Honestly? I wanna see bigger options for facial looks and builds and hair and all that stuff. Heck.... i do miss the old armor mix and match game.

if by doubled bladed staff they mean a blade at either end, then we weill see alot of Darth Maul's running aorund, teehee, which could be quite funny.

I agree the meelee class would, or atleast should suck against beefy monsters like Hydras, unless they gave themselves illusionary weapons, but thast already covered by Rits, isnt it.

To Viruzz, there are Hexes which sotp people casting spells, ok, not the same as condition, but still, a 'silence' condition would be too much imo.

Also I agree that perhaps they shudnt busy themselves creating a new prof for each chapter, else they will eventually run out of profs without ubber recycling prof combos.

Also, on the idea of races, since they have introduced 2 new races into the Henchmen, they oculd maybe make Avrican a playable race, im not saying have it have superior abilities over human, but again, an aestheics thing, for those that like the looks of those ugly birds.

A Boxer/Brawler with Capoeira (Afro-Brazilian martial art ) or Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing) style of fighting would be the BEST.

There are still lots room for new proffession, in term of playing style, functions, and roles.
You can step to the suggestion forum to see a good list of them made by the more "creative' personals.

A bard makes remote sense when you consider how Arena Net likes to make skills. I'm sure they would love to do support-type "song" skills.

Personally, I would love to see these:

Summoner
Shapeshifter

Summoner as in FFX ^-^ Anima! obliterate!

shapeshifter kinda like the druid in diablo 2, but you should be able to transform in like 5 different things.

That would totally rock (pun intended) if your weapons were instruments. Heck, they could use existing emotes for battle animations...just add instruments for those that are bards. And yeah, skills would be songs/music pieces.

Personally I don't see a need for two more proffessions at this moment but if they are, I would like to see some form of Bard or Pirate type.... (I know I am wierd =P)

I actually would not like to see any more new professions....

I would prefer if Anet gave us more new and interesting skills for the current professions each new chapter.

I say let them add new professions. Some people are just scared of change.

Although I am not sure if I would want to see new profs every 6 months, every year would be excellent to me.

And to be honest, anyone that hasnt seen a GOOD sin or rit in action just hasnt even bothered to try. They have abilities, even in their extremely immature position right now, that are wowing the best of players to experiment with them.

Everyones just hating right now cuz everyone apparently wants everything given to you on how to use everything in GW, which is not what GW is about. There is so much to do in profession choices in GW its not even funny. People are still figuring out builds for the CORE professions, let alone the new combos out there.

I love new professions, they bring diversity to a world where wammos are scared of being obsolete, which they wont, but they wont be able to boast as much. Besides, (most of) the people here who are against it are acting like anet is FORCING you to play it. I know plenty of people with factions who havent even started a sin or rit and dont plan to anytime soon. And they still love factions (and some hate too lol). So if you feel like everytime something new comes out that you HAVE to do it, id say quit bitching at Anet, cuz thats a personal problem. get some help.

Lightbulb I want a shaman!

I am religiously Shamanist and I must say that it would be awesome to see a magical version in game. Shamanism, for those familiar with the religion, is quite a blanket term that takes into account Native Americans as well as African tribal religions...

I think Totemic Magic, Animal spirit-based magic, or a CROWD CONTROL type of magic would be incredible. I also think shape-shifters would be incredible as well... More than anything, I would like to see somehing totemic.

There is no other class in the game that qualifies as true crowd control. Imagine if you were held in place and an assassin shadowstepped to you. That woud change your strategy, no? What if you were a monk and you could not reach your fellow guildies in PVP? Crowd Control would change the dynamics of EVERYTHING. Imagine a shamanist crowd controller... as a secondary to a mesmer. Total control. Or secondary to an assassin? Hold them in place while you tear them apart.

I think that, since they are continuing to concentrate on classes rather than races, they need to come up with something no other class has. Ritualists, for example, were nothing but a mishmash of different classes - like it or not, it is the truth. Sure, they added a new dynamic, but nothing TRULY different. Also, there is a limit on how many different classes you can really make before they are simply reiterations of one another or combinations thereof, like the ritualist (necro/ranger/monk combo)...

SHAMANISTS! (Witchdoctors if the setting is correct...) Other than that, I would say a "leader" sort of class that actually is completely based on buffing the abilities of those around them - like a passive class. I know a passive class may sound insane to many of you, but I think it would be a good idea. Why? Imagine buffing people around you just by being there, like a general - your skills themselves are limited, but you are aiding all of those around you. That class would take just as much if not more skill than other class combos simply because of your limitations. Of course, the other team members could make up for you that way... They could be called Raiders or something - that would be in the right place, considering there is also a Moroccan influence.

Speaking of Morocco... Crusaders of some sort... Some sort of street thief could also work perhaps?

SHAMANISTS!
RAIDERS!

Those are my guesses/suggestions.

Hearts,
Winter
